Ponce de Leon Center

The Ponce de Leon Center (aka "The Woodlands")encompasses three separate buildings connected by a porte cochere: Ouachita Activities Building, Casa de Carta, and Woodlands Auditorium.

This new $2.5 million dollar state of the art 654 seat auditorium is our culture center. Theatrical productions, musical performances, The Community Concert Series, art exhibits and choral presentations make the Center one of the busiest places in the Village.

Do you act, sing or dance? Then the Ponce de Leon Center complex is where you need to be.

Ouachita Activities Building
The Ouachita Activities Building has 4,500 square feet of meeting space for rent which can be partitioned for a variety of purposes.
Many clubs and organizations meet in the facility. Business seminars are also common at the facility.
The Hot Springs Village Property Owners’ Association Board of Directors meet in the Ouachita Activities Building twice a month for board work sessions and meetings
A newcomers coffee is held the last Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m. at the Ouachita Activities Building. The coffee is sponsored by the Property Owners’ Association Social Committee so new residents can learn about organizations and activities in Hot Springs Village.

Casa de Carta
Casa de Carta (House of Cards) is a 5,700 square foot facility used by the Village Card Club for bridge.

The card club has scheduled play on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
They also have play on the first and third Sundays of each month.

The Village Card Club has more than 700 members which includes more than 100 Life Members.

Beginning bridge classes are offered at various times throughout the year

Woodlands Auditorium

Built in 1991, this 658-seat auditorium is the cultural center of Hot Springs Village.  With approximately 75 events per year, the Arts Center is one of the busiest places in the village.  The Woodlands Auditorium and Ouachita Activities Building host a variety of offerings for every taste and preference.   Recent productions include the Ronnie Kole Trio, Crystal Chimes Chorus, David Itkin Lectures, Opera Iowa, Hello Dolly, and Mark Twain.  In 1994 the Glen Miller Orchestra visited the Center.  For information about upcoming and past productions, check out our Schedule of Events
